Next to the porcelain veneer the other popular aesthetic solution is to apply direct composite veneer which does not require removal of tooth material, as it replaces the portion of the tooth that needs to be modified with a layering technique. These layers contain a very hard nano- and micro-hybrid composite, and perfectly mimic the dentin and enamel layers of our natural teeth in both colour and physical properties.
No need for waiting, or anaesthesia, no tooth drilling or even an impression, only 1 visit and you can leave our surgery with a perfect smile!
In which cases is the direct veneer recommended?
The direct veneer is the perfect choice of treatment for:
- tooth gap,
- discoloured teeth
- crowded teeth
- badly shaped teeth (too short, too long, uneven)
- heavily worn teeth
- covering up and strengthening unaesthetically filled front teeth.
Resin veneers can offer not only excellent aesthetic but perfect tooth health, where orthodontics or bleaching could not be a solution. Once they have been placed, they can no longer be distinguished from our natural teeth and can be used in the same way.
How is the perfect smile made?
After making a silicone impression, which is used as a template throughout the treatment, we begin to layer the polished tooth surfaces. All layers are applied, one by one, in one go, based on the agreed shape and colour parameters. The thickness of these layers varies depending on the size of the area that needs to be covered. The layers are lit one by one by a LED lamp until they are properly set. After reaching the final shape and colour, a multi-stage polishing technique achieves perfect smoothness and shiny surfaces.
